1998 | Death of Jah Rastafari Elders Ras Stone and Sam Brown. |
1999 | Indicted in 1991 for unlawful possession of cannabis, Benny toves Guerrero (aka Ras Iyah Ben) was acquitted of the charges against him. The Supreme Court of Guam (United States) have recognized the ganja as a component on the same basis as the wine and bread in the Eucharist ceremony. The arrest of the accused thus constitutes a violation of the First Amendment of the Constitution guaranteeing freedom of conscience and religion. |
February 1999 | The father of reggae, Mauritian Kaya is murdered in prison following his incarceration for illegal consumption of cannabis. According to the official version of the local authorities, the singer would Rasta himself administered the fatal injuries ........ |
